Miami Art Week returns to Miami Beach, FL, from Dec. 1-7, 2025, with Art Basel once again anchoring the citywide celebration and bringing culture, community, and creativity together.
Art Basel is a highly anticipated event that unites art lovers, collectors, curators, and artists from around the world, AFROTECH™ previously reported. While the Miami installation is considered the premier art show of the Americas, the international fair also takes place annually in Basel, Switzerland; Hong Kong, China; and Paris, France.
This year’s edition of Art Basel Miami runs Dec. 5-7, with preview days Dec. 3-4 at the Miami Beach Convention Center. The 2025 fair will feature 283 leading galleries from 43 countries and territories across the Americas, Europe, Asia, the Middle East, and Africa, according to a press release.
Building on its vibrant cultural landscape, the show will further energize Greater Miami with a week of museum-quality exhibitions and collaborations from leading names in the creative industries.
“The strength and caliber of this year’s exhibitors reaffirms Art Basel Miami Beach’s centrality within the global art ecosystem,” Bridget Finn, director of Art Basel Miami Beach, said in the press release.
“This edition reflects the vitality of artistic production across the Americas — which continues to shape contemporary art practice, patronage, and discourse worldwide — and the fair’s role as a critical gateway for introducing pioneering international artists and perspectives to the American market. It is bold, rigorous, and attuned to the moment,” she added.
This year, the Art Basel Awards — the first global honors recognizing excellence across the contemporary art industry — will make their debut, the news release states.
“The 2025 edition foregrounds the multiplicity of American art — not as a single narrative but as a constellation of perspectives,” Vincenzo de Bellis, Art Basel’s chief artistic officer and global director of fairs, said in a statement.
“From Indigenous modernisms to emergent diasporic practices and digital forms, the fair traces how artists throughout the Americas continue to reshape global artistic imagination,” he continued.
As always, the week is packed with special installations and exclusive brand moments — complete with good food, curated drinks, celebrity performances, and everything in between. Here are some of the events to look forward to.
