In August 2021, Simone Biles released her first NFT collection with the platform Autograph of 10,000 non-fungible tokens (NFTs), AfroTech previously reported. And might we add, the collection proved to be successful and sold out within minutes.

Now, she’s back, and this time the GOAT is paying homage to some of her most famed moves as a part of Autograph’s Mystery GOAT collection.

The Olympic athlete’s latest collection will mark a new direction for Autograph NFT’s, as they will be debuting 8-bit style animation highlighting the very moment when Simone Biles’s mother realized the blooming star needed to join gymnastics. Fans can also look forward to seeing Biles’s legendary moves such as the Double Double Beam Dismount, Double Layout Half and Triple Double.

“This collection was co-authored by Simone and it pays homage to trends that we’ve seen in the crypto space and that the existing crypto audience have enjoyed with products like crypto punks,” Dillon Rosenblatt, Co-Founder and CEO of Autograph, said exclusively to AfroTech. “We thought it was a really cool way to tell her story that would be native to this world and to this community. When you see the full NFT, we’ve elevated it into a gymnasium type of environment that we think just adds to its collectability and the esteem of the collection.”

Fans will be eligible to tap into the collection beginning Nov. 18, 2021. However, active holders of Simone Biles’ preseason passes will have exclusive access to the collection as early as Nov. 16, 2021. Fans will be in for a treat as the collection will have an array of 16,600 collectibles, which will be a “mystery” when fans are purchasing. Those collectibles will be revealed on Nov. 23, 2021 — that’s when they will be able to unlock their digital container, where they will find a single collectible featured in one of five styles and five possible tiers of rarity. The mission will be for fans to collect all five styles in a tier, and those who accomplish this feat will receive a special sixth NFT on Nov. 30, 2021.

“There’s something really special about the artwork, the time in the NFT space, and the collection. I think both our discourse community and our different communities that live on social media platforms have picked up on it. I really encourage everybody to come see, check it out for themselves and see why we’re so excited about these pieces of art that took a lot of time, effort and thought to produce,” Rosenblatt said.
